N.B. : When there is only 500 Mbytes of space left on the hard disk drive, the service stops. To restart the service, at least 1.5 Gbytes of available space must be left on the hard disk drive.

Before e-mail notifications can be sent, this function needs to be configured in Watchdoc.

Organisational requirements

Before starting the installation and configuration procedure, check that:

  • you have at least one print device installed on the server;

  • you have a license purchased from the Sales Department at Doxense®;

  • the IIS service is installed on the server hosting the ScanCare® solution®;

  • to configure e-mail notifications, you have the relevant data on the e-mail server (server name, port number, authentication data, etc.);

  • you have a working internet connection (for the registration step).

Installing Watchdoc ScanCare® requires at least an Administrator account. To avoid the need to change the settings for the existing Administrator account, we recommend that you create a service account that is specific to the Watchdoc ScanCare® application, included in the local domain administrators groupe.
OCR function requires considerable CPU power. This is why we recommend installing Watchdoc ScanCare® on a physical rather than a virtual server. We recommend that you use the OCR-Benchmark tool (in the ScanCare® installation folder) to check the server speed. This way you can estimate the time required for OCR functions and the server capacities needed by this function.
It may be necessary to restart the computer after installing Watchdoc ScanCare®.
